Unloading geometry

I read this while I'm rendering, it takes an eternity to render  and sometimes 3ds crashes. I know the problem is in the 3d displacement, but there's a way to solve it without turning the 3d displ off?

sorry for my english

RE: Unloading geometry

For some reason, are you using caustics on?

How much memory do you have on your pc?

It's easier when you put an sample of your render scene, so, do that next time.

See ya,

Toungue  RE: Unloading geometry

a very good solution (doesnt work all the times)
select the objects that will have displacement on them, go to modifier tab and select from drop-list, VrayDisplacementMod, there load the displacement map that u r using on the material , adjust the amount as u need it, and delete displacement map from the material.

hope this helps u,

PS : a render scene helps us to help u Tongue

this solution's good, it doesn't remove the problem but if I render region by region it works.
Bye!

Exclamation  RE: Unloading geometry

Render Setup \\ Settings \\ Vray:: System \\
Dynamic memory limit: 400MB

SET THE MEMORY LIMIT  3000MB if you have 4GB RAM  AND ALL BE OK

Smile  RE: Unloading geometry

Thank you!

Increasing the dynamic memory limit solved the problem for me!

Btw It's pretty senseless when you have 8GB ram but max is only using 1.X and VRay trying to unload something it needs for not overdoing this 400mb limit :-).

Best
